Frequently asked
Questions

Frequently asked Questions

Frequently asked
Questions

Do I need to be flexible to join a class?

No. You do not need to be flexible, fit or experienced to start. Flowt is a space to move at your own pace, build strength and feel more comfortable in your body over time.

I have never done yoga before. Which class should I start with?

Hatha yoga is a good place to start. It is slower and more steady, with a focus on strength, flexibility, balance and body awareness.

What should I wear to class?

Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move easily. For aerial yoga, fitted clothing is best, and sharp jewellery should be avoided as it can snag on the hammock and props.

Do I need to bring my own mat?

You are welcome to bring your own mat, but mats and props are available at the studio.

What is aerial yoga?

Aerial yoga uses a soft fabric hammock to support your body as you stretch, strengthen and move with more freedom. It can help build confidence, core strength, flexibility and balance while being gentler on the joints.

Is aerial yoga suitable for beginners?

Yes, beginners are welcome. You will be guided through the class step by step, with support and options along the way.

What is the difference between hatha and vinyasa yoga?

Hatha yoga is slower and more grounded, with time to focus on each movement. Vinyasa yoga is more flowing and active, linking movement and breath to build strength, mobility, focus and endurance.

How big are the classes?

Flowt keeps classes smaller so there is more space, more personal guidance and a calmer class experience.

How do I book a class?

Flowt uses Bookamat for online class bookings. You can view available classes, choose the one you would like to attend, and reserve your spot before arriving at the studio. Please arrive a few minutes early so you have time to settle in.

What should I expect from my first class?

Expect a calm, welcoming space where you can arrive as you are. You will be guided through the class, given options where needed and encouraged to move in a way that feels supportive for your body.
